About the Game

Hellish Mindscape is a dark and atmospheric 2.5D roguelike platformer developed during Ludum Dare 57, based on the theme: “Depths.” Created in under 72 hours, the game explores the psychological descent of an aging man named Jaquerius as he journeys into the deepest layers of his tormented mind.

Each level blends precision platforming with chaotic arena-style combat, as you face monstrous embodiments of Jaquerius’ regrets, fears, and long-buried emotions. With each descent, the world becomes more distorted, more hostile—and more revealing. Choose your upgrades wisely, as every strength comes with a cost, and every decision shapes your fate.

Will you conquer your inner demons, or will the mindscape devour what’s left of you?
